ZAWA SYSTEM ("the Operator"), the operator of Entanow ("the App"), respects your privacy. The App is an entertainment information service focused on the Japan market that lists, searches, and notifies about anime, dramas, movies, and manga. The App does not require user registration (sign-in); user-specific data such as favorites, theme, layout, and notification settings is, in principle, stored on your device only. This policy explains how the App handles personal information and usage data.
To provide the service and improve quality, the App collects and uses the following information.
Title information itself (titles, synopses, poster image URLs, scores, etc.) is fetched from external APIs and stored in the Operator's Firestore as a shared cache; this is not information that identifies any individual user. Title images and the fonts used for display are loaded by your device directly from each host, and the availability of a new version is checked by your device directly with the app stores (see Sections 4(c) and 4(d)). Section 4(e) lists the information sent from your device to external parties.
Collected information is used for the following purposes.
The App uses the third-party services listed below. They fall into four categories: (a) processors that process data on the Operator's behalf under a service-provider relationship (Firebase and similar services handle user personal data; the Google Gemini API handles title information only), (b) external data sources that the Operator's server queries for title information without sending user personal data, (c) hosts from which your device loads title images and fonts directly, and (d) app stores that distribute the App and are used to check for new versions, among other things. Optional Apple Music integration is described in (f). The information the App sends from your device to external parties is summarized by recipient in (e).
The Operator exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over its processors as required by Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
These external data sources are queried only by the Operator's server (Cloud Functions) for title metadata. No user-identifying information is sent.
The App loads title posters and cover images, as well as the font files used for display, by connecting directly from your device to the servers of the hosts listed below. In doing so, information necessary for the connection, such as your device's IP address, User-Agent (OS and app type, etc.), and the time of the request, is sent to each host and handled under that host's privacy policy. The Operator does not receive this information. The App does not send your on-device favorites or settings to these hosts when loading these files.
The information the App sends from your device to external parties, the recipients, and the main purposes are as follows (see (a) to (d) and (f) for details on each recipient).

In addition, when you open a link (official sites, streaming services, this page, etc.), information necessary for the connection, such as your IP address, is sent to the destination, as with ordinary web browsing.
On supported iPhone and iPad devices, choosing to search for a song checks your permission to access Apple Music through MusicKit. Once authorized, search terms are sent to Apple. When you choose to play a song, its ID and the information needed for playback are sent to Apple. After your final confirmation, the selected song IDs and playlist name are sent to Apple to create a new playlist in your library. MusicKit manages authentication information. These details and your Apple Music account information are not sent to or stored on the Operator's servers. The App does not read existing playlists or listening history. Search results, selections in progress, and the current playback state are held temporarily in device memory. Song choices and playback actions are not sent to the Operator’s analytics service.
Apple's terms and privacy policy apply to its handling of this information. You can revoke the App's Media & Apple Music access in device settings. Created playlists remain in your Apple Music library after permission is revoked or the App is uninstalled. Delete them in the Music app if needed.

Through the third-party services listed above, your personal data may be transferred to the following recipients located outside Japan:
For optional Apple Music integration, the information described in Section 4(f) is sent directly from your device to Apple Inc. (United States).
The Operator's server sends only title information, and no user personal data, to the Google Gemini API and to external data sources such as TMDB (see Sections 4(a) and 4(b)).
In addition, as described in Sections 4(c) to 4(e), when title images and fonts are loaded, when the App checks for a new version, and for App Attest, communication information such as your device's IP address is sent directly from your device to each image host (AniList and TMDB (TiVo Platform Technologies LLC; United States)), to Google LLC (United States; font delivery and checks on Google Play), and to Apple Inc. (United States; checks on the App Store and App Attest).
For information on the U.S. personal-information protection regime, see the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan's "Information on personal-information protection systems in foreign countries" (https://www.ppc.go.jp/personalinfo/legal/kaiseihogohou/). Google LLC's terms of service and data processing and protection terms for Firebase and its other services provide that Google implements security measures for user data. The Operator has reviewed these terms and uses these services having determined that Google LLC's handling of user data provides a level of protection equivalent to that described in this Policy and required by the APPI. Information about these measures is available upon request via the contact in Section 13.
In line with the guidelines of Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission, the Operator takes the following measures to prevent leakage, loss, or alteration of personal information.
The App's notification feature delivers device-side local notifications (an OS feature) approximately 10 minutes before broadcast for favorited anime works for which you have explicitly enabled notifications. Notification content is generated on the device, and the Operator does not push notifications from its servers. Notifications require an OS notification permission (on Android 13 and later, a runtime permission). On Android 12 and later, the App may request the exact-alarm permission (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) to deliver notifications precisely at the scheduled time (approximately 10 minutes before broadcast). If the permission is not granted, the App falls back to inexact alarms, which, depending on device state (Doze, battery optimization, etc.), may be delayed by several minutes to tens of minutes or may not be delivered at all.
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Minors aged 13 to 17 should obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before use. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will delete usage information related to that user as promptly as practicable.
The mobile app does not use cookies. Web pages associated with the App (including this page) do not use cookies for analytics. Operationally necessary cookies may be issued temporarily by infrastructure services such as Firebase Hosting.
Under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), you may request notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use or erasure, or suspension of third-party transfer, with respect to personal data the Operator holds about you.
Please contact us using the contact information in Section 13. After verifying your identity (or that of your authorized representative) by reasonable means, we will respond promptly in accordance with the APPI and other applicable laws. We do not charge a fee for these requests.
Because the App does not require sign-in and user-specific data is stored only on the device, you can review and delete favorites and settings yourself at any time via in-app operations and uninstallation.
The Operator may amend this Policy from time to time. Material changes (e.g., adding categories of personal information collected, significant changes to recipients of data, or substantive expansion of purposes of use) will be announced via in-app notice or by updating this page a reasonable period before they take effect. Minor changes (such as editorial corrections, typo fixes, or updates to reference links) take effect upon posting. Continued use of the App after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the amended Policy.
